I promised myself by the time I was 60 that I would set myself up for my retirement. I stumbled upon "Verve" Alamanda about 18 months ago and the idea of independent living appealed to me, but so I had covered all my bases I proceeded to check out at least 6 retirement villages in the western and northern suburbs. Even though these villages were very modern and had all the facilities you would need in later life, I would still have been the youngest by at least 10 years and I couldn’t see myself in the bingo set at this point of my life. Don’t get me wrong, I think retirement villages are great but it just wasn’t for me. Just by accident I was drawn back to "Verve" Alamanda and that is how my new journey began.

I loved the idea of being able to pick a builder and block. I also liked not having any Deferred Management fees and being able to sell my own home, in my own time, while I watched my new home being built.

Only having 29 blocks has created a community of like minded residents who have also down-sized and want to feel safe in an environment that is friendly and social.

Club Alamanda is within sight and the use of the pool, gym and of course the convenience of the cafe is great.

The functions that Villawood have organised for the "Verve" residents have been fantastic.  From Wine and Cheese tastings on our village green to a fantastic Christmas lunch and entertainment.

Villawood have gone out of their way to assist me with any hurdles that popped up and I can’t thank them enough.
